About this template

About the Dark Luxury template

Dark Luxury is a black and gold catalog template with the feel of an engraved invitation. Every page is near-black, framed by a thin gold line set just inside the edge. Cinzel, a classical capital face, carries the headings in ivory and gold, while Lato keeps the body copy readable. Gold diamonds mark the cover and back page, and the cover reads The COLLECTION rather than a plain catalog title.

It is built for brands whose buyers expect a premium presentation: fine jewelry, watches, fragrance, spirits and leather goods. Products drop onto grid or mosaic pages that you can set in the same dark palette, with prices, SKUs and variant tables where you need them. In the online flipbook the gold reads cleanly on screen and buyers can order through the built-in form; for print, export the CMYK Print professional PDF and ask your printer about rich black.

  • Evening, holiday and VIP collections that call for a dark, formal look
Highlights

Pages worth a closer look

Dark Luxury — Cover page

The COLLECTION in gold Cinzel capitals

Instead of a generic title, the cover announces The COLLECTION, with COLLECTION in large gold Cinzel and a small gold diamond above. The edition line, website and email sit inside the gold frame, so the cover feels finished before a single product is added.

Dark Luxury — Welcome page

A founder's letter in gold and ivory

WELCOME is set in gold Cinzel over a short gold rule, followed by a two-paragraph letter and the founder's name in small capitals. Rewrite it as a note on craftsmanship, sourcing or the season's story; in a premium catalog this page sets the tone for everything after it.

Dark Luxury — Order form page

An order form that keeps the dark look

Fields for the buyer's company, PO number and delivery address sit on fine light rules above an item table with a gold header row, and the grand total is underlined in gold. The footer repeats your opening minimum and the email address that receives orders.

Dark Luxury — Back page page

A gold thank-you inside the frame

The back page closes with a gold diamond, a gold Cinzel thank-you, a short invitation to get in touch and your email, phone and website in spaced capitals. Your social handle sits at the foot, inside the same gold frame as the cover.

Tips

Printing and styling a black and gold catalog

Ask your printer about rich black

Large areas printed with black ink alone often look charcoal rather than deep black. Print shops usually build big solid areas from a rich black mix of all four inks. Export the CMYK Print professional PDF and ask the shop to check both the black and the gold on a hard proof.

Know how gold behaves in print

In four-color printing, gold becomes a flat ochre or mustard; it does not shine. For a metallic effect, ask about metallic ink or foil on the cover only, which printers quote as an extra. On screen, the online flipbook shows the gold the way you designed it.

Size up light text on dark pages

Ivory type on near-black looks smaller and thinner than black type on white, and fine strokes can fill in on press. Set body copy a point or two larger than usual, avoid hairline weights for prices, and keep longer paragraphs to the welcome page.

Photograph products for a dark page

A white photo background looks like a bright hole on a black page. Shoot on dark gray or black velvet, or use cut-out images, and light the product from the side so its edges catch a highlight. Jewelry, watches and glass bottles benefit most from a dark backdrop.

Use gold as punctuation, not paint

Gold works because it is rare on the page. Keep it for titles, rules, prices or a single ornament and leave the rest ivory and gray. When everything turns gold, nothing stands out, and the effect becomes loud instead of refined.

FAQ

Questions about this template

Is the Dark Luxury template only for jewelry?

No. It fits any product that sells on presentation: watches, fragrance, spirits, chocolate, leather goods, home accessories or premium gifts. If black feels too heavy for your brand, recolor the set with one of the 12 palettes and keep the frame, the Cinzel headings and the page structure.

Can I share Dark Luxury privately with selected buyers?

Yes. Publish it as a wholesale flipbook with an optional password, so only the stockists you invite see trade prices and order through the built-in form. Every link also has a QR code that you can print on a card or show on a tablet during an appointment.

Does a black catalog cost more to print?

Often not much more, but heavy black coverage uses more ink, can need longer drying time and shows fingerprints and scuffs. Ask your printer whether they recommend a coated stock or a matte lamination for the cover, and see a printed proof before you sign off.

What makes a luxury product catalog feel high end?

Restraint. Fewer products per page, large photography, consistent lighting, generous margins and a limited palette do more than decoration. Write short, specific copy about materials and craftsmanship, list prices plainly and make ordering easy. A fine frame and one classical typeface, as in this template, are enough ornament.
