About this template

About the Gifts for Kids template

This kids gift guide template is loud in the right way: chunky Shrikhand lettering, balloons, confetti and a cluster of photos of a wooden car, a xylophone, a teddy and building blocks, plus a 100+ toys badge. Tomato red, butter yellow and cobalt blue sit on warm white, with Nunito for text and Kalam for handwritten notes. Pick that cover, a red band cover over a xylophone or a pink poster with a wooden elephant on a rainbow stacker.

Chapters follow how children grow (Babies, Toddlers, Big Kids, Crafty, Stocking Stuffers), and the cover chips split ages into 0–2, 3–5 and 6–9. Load toys from Shopify, a WooCommerce shop or a CSV upload, and print each age grade on the product pages from a tag or a Shopify metafield. Give printed copies out at the counter before the holidays, or send parents the flipbook link for birthday season.

Highlights

Pages worth a closer look

Gifts for Kids — Front cover page

Age chips right on the cover

Chips for ages 0–2, 3–5 and 6–9 and an under-$25 band sit along the bottom of the cover, so a grandparent knows where to start before opening the guide. The 100+ toys badge tells them how much choice is inside.

Gifts for Kids — Welcome / About page

A welcome note from two junior toy testers

The sample letter is signed by two young testers, ages 4 and 7, and asks shoppers to check each age label. It is a friendly way to say every toy has been played with, with free gift wrap and handwritten cards listed underneath.

Gifts for Kids — Best Sellers page

Top picks as photo tiles with age labels

Four photo tiles carry numbered badges, price tags and short labels such as Ages 1+ and Ages 2+. Parents scanning for a birthday present see the price and the age at the same glance.

A second-toy offer for the party circuit

A hanging tag on a yellow page offers 15% off the second toy, every day, for families with two parties in one month. It is a year-round reason to buy two, not a one-off holiday sale.

Gifting dates beyond Christmas

Tiles mark order-by days for Easter baskets, back-to-school, Black Friday toy orders and Christmas, with a banner promising same-day shipping for birthday gifts. Toy shops sell all year, and this page says so.

Tips

What parents and grandparents look for in a kids gift guide

Sort by age before anything else

Toys are designed and labeled by age, and gift buyers such as grandparents, aunts and family friends rarely know what suits a toddler versus a six-year-old. Use the age bands from the packaging (0–2, 3–5, 6–9, 10+) as chapters or tags, and repeat the age next to every product.

List materials, batteries and size

Parents check what a toy is made of and what it needs before they buy. Name the materials (solid beech, water-based paint, organic cotton), give the size, say whether batteries are needed and included, and note any assembly. These answers stop questions arriving the night before a party.

Say what the play is

A parent wants to know what the child will do with it. One honest line such as stack and sort, build and knock down, pretend kitchen play or first puzzles helps more than a list of features. Skip medical or developmental promises; describe the play and let parents judge.

Stock birthday gifts all year

Children go to birthday parties all year, so toy shops get gift orders every month, not only in December. A party-gift chapter between $15 and $35, same-day dispatch, free wrapping and a second-toy discount make your shop the easy stop on the way to a party.

Publish the holiday toy guide early

Popular toys can sell out weeks before the holidays, so many parents shop early. Have the holiday edition out by early November, before Black Friday, and flag items with limited stock. Run Sync on Shopify products before every mailing so prices and stock stay current.

FAQ

Questions about this template

Can I show age ranges for every toy in this guide?

Yes. The cover already has chips for ages 0–2, 3–5 and 6–9, and the top picks show labels such as Ages 1+. On product pages, keep the age in a product tag, a Shopify metafield or the description, and it can print with the photo and price.

Does the Gifts for Kids template suit baby shops too?

It does. The first chapter is Babies, the hero gift is a machine-washable teddy suggested for baby showers, and the contents page promises soft and cuddly picks. Rename the other chapters for newborn sets, nursery decor or first birthdays, and replace the sample photos with your own.

What safety information should a toy catalog show?

The age grade from the packaging, any choking-hazard warning for small parts, small balls, marbles or balloons, battery requirements and the main materials. In the US, toys for children aged three to six that contain small parts must carry a warning, and that warning has to appear in catalogs and online listings too. Check the rules in every country you sell to.

How many toys should a kids gift guide show per age group?

Eight to fifteen toys per age band keeps a small shop's guide easy to browse: a few hero toys, some mid-priced party gifts and a handful of stocking stuffers under $25. Give hero toys a 2×2 grid so they show large, fit small items on denser pages up to 4×5, and list a toy in two bands only if it genuinely suits both.
