About the Music & Instruments Premium template
This musical instrument catalog template reads like an editorial dealer book from a guitar workshop. Crimson Text serif headlines pair with Work Sans body text and monospaced spec labels on pale sage pages, with burnt copper accents and dark walnut panels. A fret ruler runs along most page footers, numbered lists use guitar-pick markers, and the front cover frames a workshop photo inside a soundhole rosette crossed by strings. Seven covers include a band and orchestra poster and a setup-issue magazine front.
Sample copy from a fictional Nashville distributor speaks to independent music stores, so the trade details are in place: dealer price beside MAP, case packs for strings, a setup spec for each guitar, and terms covering MAP policy, opening orders, freight and Net 30. Guitars, outfits and string sets arrive by Shopify collection or CSV upload as cards on sage product pages: SKU, type, name, a spec line with MAP and the dealer price. Print it for a dealer day, or share a wholesale flipbook that stores can order from.
Best for
- Instrument distributors supplying independent music stores
- Guitar brands with a dealer network and a MAP policy
- Band and orchestra suppliers selling student outfits before the school year
- String and accessory makers that sell in cases of 12 sets
- Drum and percussion wholesalers with shells, snares and hand drums
Pages worth a closer look

Gauge, scale and violin size charts
One page carries three references: string sets with every gauge listed and drawn to scale beside the dealer price per set, scale lengths from soprano ukulele to classical guitar, and violin outfits from 4/4 to 1/8 with body length, arm length and typical age.

A featured guitar with dealer price and MAP
A full-height guitar photo sits beside the dealer price and MAP, a ships-set-up badge and a spec table for top, back and sides, neck, fretboard, scale, electronics and case pack. A scale ruler, the fitted string gauges and a small range table complete the page.

Humidity and seasonal care for the wall
A hygrometer dial marks the 45 to 55 percent humidity target, and four photo tiles cover humidifying in winter, restringing every 90 days, wiping instead of spraying polish, and a seasonal truss rod check. It helps stores keep demo guitars playable through dry months.

Dealer terms with pick-shaped markers
Six numbered terms, each marked with a guitar pick, cover MAP policy, opening and reorder minimums, payment and fall dating, freight, damage and returns, and warranty. A dark band at the foot gives the dealer desk phone and email for questions.
What music stores look for in a dealer catalog
Publish the setup spec with each guitar
Stores want instruments they can hang on the wall straight from the box. List the factory setup: action height at the 12th fret, neck relief, nut width, scale length and the string gauge fitted. When dealers know a guitar ships playable, they can skip the arrival setup and price it with confidence.
Size student instruments clearly
Parents and teachers buy violins and cellos by fraction, violas by body length in inches, and children's guitars in 1/2 and 3/4 sizes. Print a chart that matches size to arm length or age, and put the size in every product title. A clear chart helps stores order the right mix of fractions for local schools.
Time band and orchestra before school starts
School music programs fill rental and purchase orders in late summer, so dealers stock student outfits from spring onward. Send the band and orchestra section early, with outfit contents, case types and rental-friendly pricing. A second push before the holidays suits guitars, ukuleles and starter drum kits.
List strings by gauge, material and case quantity
Players choose strings by gauge set and winding, such as phosphor bronze, 80/20 bronze or nickel, and stores restock them constantly. Print the full gauge run for each set, the case quantity, often 12 sets, and the dealer price per set. Strings are a steady reorder line, so make them easy to find.
Include humidity care for solid wood
Solid-top guitars and violins can crack when indoor air gets too dry in winter. Recommend 45 to 55 percent relative humidity, advise hanging instruments away from vents and doors, and suggest a room humidifier for the sales floor. A care page also gives staff something useful to hand customers.

Questions about this template
What pages does the Music & Instruments Premium template include?
There are 27 pages, seven of them covers. The pages stores use most are the gauge and size guide, dealer terms, best sellers with dealer price and MAP, and how to order; around them sit a What's on the wall contents page, a featured dreadnought, the workshop story, the setup bench team, String Week, Spring Dealer Day, shop-floor testimonials, humidity care and a framed blank, among others. Imported instruments fill tinted product pages.
Can I show dealer prices and MAP together on product pages?
Yes, and the sample cards show one way: the dealer price prints as the price, while MAP sits in the short description line, as in Solid Sitka top · MAP $549. You can also print MAP from a Shopify metafield. Or keep the retail price as the price and let the Discount & Tax tool show the dealer price as the discount price beside it.
How are violins and other string instruments sized for students?
Violins are sized by arm length, measured with the arm stretched out from the neck to the middle of the palm. Around 23 inches or more suits a full-size 4/4, about 20 to 22 inches a 1/2, and smaller players move down to 1/4 and 1/8. Violas are sized by body length in inches, and cellos use their own fractions.
When should instrument dealers get the new season's catalog?
Most suppliers introduce new models early in the year, so send the main catalog in January or February while stores plan spring orders. Follow with a band and orchestra update in spring for back-to-school, and a holiday update by late summer, when stores order guitars and gift-friendly accessories for the fourth quarter.
