About this template

About the Studio Clay template

This pottery catalog template starts with a warm photo of terracotta jars and the title Studio Clay below it in Lustria, a soft serif with a hand-cut feel. Inside, cream pages, clay-brown text and a terracotta accent echo raw stoneware, with Montserrat headings and Karla text. A pale quarter circle curves into the top corner of the text pages. Seven pages frame the work, from a signed welcome letter to the order form a shop fills in and a back page with your details.

Studios use it to open stockists and to sell commissions: the sample contents include tableware, vases, mugs and cups, one-of-a-kind pieces and workshops. Add products from Shopify or a CSV and the grids show photos and prices, with glaze variants where you need them. Note one-off pieces in the description, set quantity multiples for mugs sold in sets, and print a PDF for craft fairs or share a flipbook.

Highlights

Pages worth a closer look

Studio Clay — Cover page

Artisan pottery photo cover

A warm photo of terracotta jars fills the top two-thirds of the cover, with the Studio Clay title and your contact details on cream below it. Swap in a picture of your own workbench or a shelf of fresh glazes with Replace photo.

Studio Clay — Contents page

Contents from tableware to workshops

Tableware, vases, mugs and cups, one-of-a-kind pieces and workshops each have a page number. Listing classes alongside products shows buyers the working studio behind the pieces they stock.

Studio Clay — How to order page

How to order handmade work

Step one is emailing the order sheet, step two sets out your minimums, and step three covers delivery, claims and payment. Stretch the stated shipping time to allow for throwing, drying and firing.

Studio Clay — Order form page

Wholesale order form

One page collects the shop's name, contact and PO, then each mug, bowl or vase takes a separate line with its quantity and price. Add the glaze name so a café can reorder the exact color later.

Tips

What shops want to know before stocking your pottery

Explain handmade variation

Every glaze firing is slightly different. Say so on the welcome or terms page, show two or three examples of the same piece, and promise a tolerance for size and color. Buyers who expect variation stay loyal; buyers who are surprised send pieces back.

List the practical care facts

State whether each piece is food safe, dishwasher safe, microwave safe and oven safe, and whether vases are watertight. Shops need these answers for their customers, and cafés will not buy tableware without them in writing.

Set realistic lead times

Handmade production depends on kiln loads and drying time. Quote lead times per collection, ask for holiday orders well ahead of the season, and keep a small in-stock list for quick reorders between firings so shops are never left empty.

Price for wholesale from the start

Shops often double the wholesale price to set retail. Work out your wholesale price from clay, glaze, time and firing costs, then check that the resulting retail price still sells. Print both so a buyer can see their margin.

FAQ

Questions about this template

Can I list one-of-a-kind ceramics in this pottery template?

Yes. Give each unique piece its own product with a photo, title and price, and say in the description that it is one of a kind. If you sell on Shopify, Sync updates prices, stock and photos in the catalog, so you can refresh it after a piece sells.

Which pages come with the Studio Clay set?

The photo cover leads into six more pages: a welcome letter, a contents list, how-to-order terms, a collection divider, the order form for stockists and a back page. Recolor all seven with 12 palettes; your product pages are generated from the editor's grids.

How should a pottery wholesale catalog price mugs and sets?

Show the price per piece and the set or case size, such as mugs in fours or sixes, and list glaze options as variants. If you offer volume discounts, state the tiers clearly; the wholesale flipbook supports up to three tiers of volume pricing.

Which photos help sell ceramics in a catalog?

One clean product shot on a plain background for the grid, plus one styled photo in use, such as a mug in a hand or a vase with stems. Show the base or foot and a glaze close-up too, since buyers judge handmade work by its details.
