About this template

About the Building Materials template

The building materials order form sits in a seven-page set drawn in a site-ready graphite look. A dark sideband runs down the cover, divider and back page, with the catalog year printed sideways on the first two, and Teko condensed capitals set BUILDING in graphite over MATERIALS in orange. Inner pages stay white with Open Sans text and thin rules. A second version puts building frames, stacked yard racks and tower cranes on the cover, divider and back page.

The order form is the working page: company, contact, PO number and ship-to, then ruled lines for item or SKU, description, quantity, unit price and totals. Contractors can fill in a printed copy, and the wholesale flipbook adds an online order form with minimums. Lumber, cement, insulation and roofing products come in from Shopify, a CSV or a product feed and fill grid pages between the dividers, and 12 palettes recolor the whole set.

Best for

  • Building supply yards that take contractor orders by email or at the counter
  • Roofing and insulation distributors wanting a simple trade catalog in brand colors
  • Cement and concrete suppliers sending a price book to new trade accounts
  • Suppliers who prefer a light frame and let product grids carry the catalog
  • Job-site handouts with a printable order sheet at the back
Highlights

Pages worth a closer look

Building Materials — Order form page

Wholesale order form

The ruled order sheet takes company, PO number and delivery details up top, then SKU, description, quantity and price per line, with subtotal and shipping. Relabel SHIP TO as SITE ADDRESS and the form works for job-site drops as well as yard collections.

Building Materials — How to order page

How to order page

Three numbered panels cover ordering by email, opening and reorder minimums, and delivery, claims and Net 30 terms. Replace the sample figures with your own lead times, delivery charges and site-drop rules before the first print run.

Building Materials — Contents page

Contents in five trade sections

The contents page comes set with Lumber & Timber, Cement & Concrete, Insulation, Roofing and Tools & Fixings, each with a page number. Rename or reorder them to match how your yard groups its stock.

Building Materials — Cover page

Cover with a graphite sideband

A vertical graphite band carries the catalog year sideways while BUILDING MATERIALS sits large in Teko capitals, with your web address and email in the footer. The photo-collage cover stacks three construction-site and yard photos above a white title strip instead.

Tips

How to build a material order form contractors will use

State the unit of sale on every line

Mixed units cause many building supply order errors. Say whether each price is per piece, bag, bundle, pallet, linear foot or square foot, and print the pack size beside it. A contractor who writes 40 next to a pallet-priced block should know whether that means blocks or pallets.

Ask for the site, not just the address

Add a delivery date, a site contact with a phone number and access notes to the form: gate codes, overhead lines, slopes and where pallets can be set down. Drivers lose time on unclear drops, and a refused delivery costs both sides.

Separate stock lines from special orders

Mark which products ship from stock and which are ordered in, with typical lead times. Special-order brick, windows and engineered beams are often non-returnable, so say so on the terms page before a contractor signs the order form.

Keep a PO number field

Larger builders track materials by job and purchase order. A PO field on every order makes your invoices easier to approve and speeds up payment, especially from builders running several sites at once on Net 30 accounts.

FAQ

Questions about this template

What does the building materials order form set include?

Seven pages: cover, welcome letter, contents with five building-material sections, a how-to-order page with minimums and payment terms, a section divider, the wholesale order form and a back page with contact details. In the second version the cover gets a three-photo collage, the divider a strip of rack and crane photos along the top and the back page one full-bleed site photo, while your product grids fill the pages in between.

Can I change the graphite look to my company colors?

Yes. Pick one of the 12 palettes to recolor the set, or set your own colors, fonts and logo on any page. Text, page order and photos are editable too, so the sideband, headings and order form can match your yard signage and delivery trucks.

What should a building materials order form ask for?

Company and contact, PO or job number, delivery date and site address, then SKU, description, unit of sale, quantity and price on each line. Add a site contact phone number and access notes for crane or forklift drops. Clear fields cut the follow-up calls that hold up next-day delivery.

Should a building supply catalog show trade prices or list prices?

Most yards show trade or account prices excluding tax in the catalog they send to contractors, and keep list prices for walk-in customers. If you serve both, publish two versions: a password-protected wholesale flipbook for account holders and a public showcase flipbook with list prices. Show the validity date either way.
