About this template

About the Tools Catalog template

This tool catalog template borrows from the workshop wall. A dotted pegboard pattern runs behind a photo of red-handled tools laid out on a dark surface, a SKU tag prices a 24-piece kit against MSRP, oversized Teko capitals spell out the title, and a vertical red band runs down the right edge. Hind keeps body text readable and Chakra Petch labels sizes and codes. Inside, a wrench size table lists metric and inch sizes side by side.

Sell by the carton, the counter display or the pallet. Products arrive from Shopify, WooCommerce or a CSV and fill red-headed grid pages with name, SKU and trade price, and a set sold in several sizes can print as one variant table. Share a wholesale flipbook whose order form enforces carton multiples and a minimum order, and print a PDF for reps visiting stores and for your trade-show stand.

Best for

  • Hand tool brands selling to hardware and building-supply stores
  • Tool distributors offering counter displays and wall planograms
  • Suppliers stocking metric and inch sizes in the same range
  • Wholesalers running pallet deals and lifetime warranty programs
  • Private-label tool programs for regional retail chains
Highlights

Pages worth a closer look

Tools Catalog — Size / Spec Guide page

Wrench sizes in metric and inch

A spec table lists combination wrench sizes in millimeters beside the nearest SAE inch sizes, with length, case pack and SKU, and names the steel used. Store staff can answer a customer's size question without opening a box.

Tools Catalog — Featured Product page

A featured set with its sizes

The featured page shows a seven-piece chisel set with blade widths and lengths, hardness, handle and rack materials, trade price, MSRP and how many sets a counter display holds, plus the SKUs of chisels sold loose.

Tools Catalog — Promo / Sale page

Full-pallet deal

A pallet offer takes a percentage off full pallets in any mix of lines, explains how many cartons fit and promises one delivery and one invoice. It suits suppliers who want fewer, larger orders from regional stores.

Tools Catalog — Front cover page

Pegboard cover with a priced kit

A pegboard dot pattern, a flat lay of red-handled tools and a SKU tag with trade price and MSRP sit above huge condensed type. The tag turns the cover into the first product page and shows buyers your price level before they turn over.

Tips

What hardware store buyers want in a tool catalog

List sizes both ways

Many customers think in inches, others in millimeters, and some tools are sold in both. Print metric and inch sizes side by side with lengths and weights, and show which sizes each set contains so buyers can plan open stock beside the sets.

Sell the display, not just the tool

Hardware stores buy space as much as product. Offer counter displays, clip strips or wall planograms with a fixed assortment, and say what an opening display costs, how many units it holds and how refills are ordered.

Spell out the warranty

A lifetime or long warranty only sells if the process is clear. Explain who handles a claim, whether the store replaces the tool from stock, how the store is credited and what the warranty excludes.

Show materials and hardness

Professional buyers compare steel grades, hardness, finishes and handle materials. Give the material and, for cutting edges, the hardness on the Rockwell C scale, plus drive sizes for sockets and bits. Specific data separates a professional range from bargain sets.

Plan around the DIY seasons

Hardware sales rise in spring for home and garden projects and again before the holidays for gift sets. Send your catalog early enough for stores to book displays and gift packs, usually late winter for spring and late summer for the holiday season.

FAQ

Questions about this template

Can the tool catalog show every size in a set?

Yes. Product pages can show variant tables, so a wrench offered in eight sizes prints as one product with a size table rather than eight separate tiles. A case-pack note in the description, the barcode field and Shopify metafields such as length or drive size can sit in the same layout.

Which pages does the Tools Catalog template include?

Seventeen pages in red, charcoal and white: three covers, a welcome letter, contents, a section divider, a featured tool set, top reorders, a pallet deal, how to order, trade terms, the trade desk and area reps, notes, a wrench size table, key figures, a trade FAQ and a back cover.

What is a planogram in a hardware store?

A planogram is a diagram that shows exactly where each product goes on a shelf, wall or display, and in what quantity. Tool suppliers often provide planograms with a fixed assortment, so a store can set up a section quickly and reorder by position.

How do lifetime tool warranties usually work?

Typically the customer brings a broken tool back to the store, which replaces it from stock; the supplier then credits the store or replaces the item on its next order. Most lifetime warranties cover defects and breakage in normal use, not wear, misuse or lost tools.
