About this template

About the Printing Services Premium template

Everything in this printing services catalog template comes from the pressroom. A press photo with a page-curl corner opens the catalog, and job numbers, sheet-size diagrams and a color slug reading black plus teal on 150 gsm silk run through the pages. Domine serif headlines pair with Libre Franklin text and IBM Plex Mono for specs, in press black, warm off-white and teal. Seven covers include one that cuts a 17 × 22 in parent sheet into every size inside.

Print shops, trade printers and print brokers can use it as a price book that answers stock and file questions before they reach prepress. Bring products in from Shopify, a CSV or a product feed, and each card, flyer or booklet flows onto a white product page with SKU, category, name, a mono spec line and price; a variant table for size options can be added. Export a CMYK PDF with bleed and crop marks for your counter, or send trade accounts a password-protected flipbook.

Best for

  • Trade printers selling white-label print to studios, agencies and resellers
  • Print shops publishing per-quantity prices for cards, flyers and booklets
  • Print brokers presenting stocks, finishes and turnaround times to clients
  • Finishing and bindery shops showing foil, edge paint and wire binding options
  • Label and packaging printers that need a stock reference for their buyers

Printing Services Premium — Size / Spec Guide page

Paper, weighed: the stock and finish guide

A table lists each stock with gsm, US weight, coated or uncoated surface and best use, from 90 gsm bond for letterheads to a 38 pt triplex for premium cards. Below it, a turnaround grid and finish chips answer the questions clients ask most.

Printing Services Premium — Care Instructions page

Print-ready files checklist

Six checklist items cover CMYK instead of RGB, 300 dpi at final size, outlined or embedded fonts, 0.125 in bleed, rich black for large areas and one press-quality PDF. A bleed, trim and safe-zone diagram makes the rules easy to follow.

Printing Services Premium — Featured Product page

Featured card with a cross-section

A triplex business card gets a full page: price per 250, a description of three 270 gsm sheets pressed into one 38 pt card, and a cross-section showing the colored core. Use it for the premium product you most want resellers to upsell.

Printing Services Premium — Cover · split page

Parent-sheet cover

The split cover pairs a vintage press photo with a diagram of one 17 × 22 in parent sheet cut into tabloid, letter and three smaller sizes. It shows at a glance what you print and how it comes off the press.

Tips

What to list in a printing services catalog

Name every stock in gsm and US weight

US clients think in pounds and many designers in gsm, and 100 lb text is a far lighter sheet than 100 lb cover. Give each paper its gsm, its US weight with the grade, its surface and a best-use note, and use the same names on price rows and in the stock guide.

Price standard runs, not single pieces

Print buyers compare totals at common quantities such as 250, 500, 1,000 and 2,500. Show the total for each run, what it includes, for example 4/4 color and coating, and whether a reorder from the same file skips setup. Add a per-unit figure on long runs, but keep the total first.

Put file specs where clients will see them

Bleed, safe zone, color mode, resolution and missing fonts are the usual reasons a file bounces back from prepress. Print your checklist beside the ordering steps, show a sample with trim and bleed lines, and state whether a failed preflight delays the job or costs extra.

Quote turnaround from proof approval

A 48-hour promise means little if the clock starts at upload. Say when it starts, give the daily cut-off, and separate digital short runs from offset jobs, because long litho runs, binding and finishes such as foil or letterpress add working days.

Show finishes in photos, with lead times

Foil, spot UV, soft-touch lamination, embossing and edge paint are hard to picture from a word. Photograph them under raking light, list the minimum run and extra days for each, and invite clients to a paper and finishing open house to handle samples.

FAQ

Questions about this template

Which pages are in the Printing Services Premium template?

Seven covers and 20 designed pages: welcome, contents, section divider, a printed-this-month lookbook, featured product, brand story, account team, how trade jobs run, best sellers, a trade-week promo, pressroom stats, an open-house invitation, testimonials, file FAQ, a stock and finish guide, a print-ready file checklist, contact, trade terms, a notes page and a back cover.

Can I export this catalog for offset printing?

Yes. Download a PDF in one of five qualities up to 300 DPI, switch on the CMYK Print professional option, and add 3 mm or 5 mm bleed with crop marks. Choose A4, Letter or A5 in portrait or landscape; a single catalog can run to 500 pages, enough for a full price book.

What paper weights should a print shop catalog list?

List gsm and the US basis weight with its grade, because 80 lb text and 80 lb cover are very different sheets. Typical ranges run from about 90 gsm bond for letterheads, through 150 to 170 gsm text for flyers and booklet pages, to 300 to 350 gsm cover for business cards and postcards.

Why do saddle-stitched booklets need page counts in multiples of four?

Each sheet is folded in half and stapled through the fold, so one sheet makes four pages. A 30-page file has to become 28 or 32 pages, with blanks or notes added. Saying this on your booklet product pages saves a round of file corrections and a delayed proof.
