About this template

About the Bold Catalog template

This bold catalog template is set mostly on electric blue, with Ultra, a heavy slab serif, for headlines in white, sunshine yellow or navy and Asap for the text. The cover shouts its title in giant capitals above a pink panel, a circular portrait in a yellow hat and a sticker-style badge, then signs off with a three-word slogan. Flat color blocks in pink, red, green and yellow frame the photos, and the 15 pages keep that poster energy through to the navy contact panel on the back cover.

Underneath the noise it is a practical wholesale catalog: case packs of six, mixed colors within a case on reorders, a $400 opening order, Net 30 for approved accounts and 15 percent off opening orders over $1,000. A color index groups styles by color with case size and a starting price. Bring products in from Shopify, a CSV file or a product feed, and they fill blue product pages. Send the flipbook to new accounts, or print it as a leave-behind for buying appointments.

Best for

  • Concept stores and gift wholesalers selling bright, statement products
  • Brands whose range spans fashion, shoes, beauty and homeware
  • Wholesalers recruiting new accounts with an opening-order discount
  • Small makers who sell in case packs of six with mixed colors
  • Any brand that wants its catalog to stand out on a buyer's desk
Highlights

Pages worth a closer look

Bold Catalog — Front cover page

A cover that shouts

Giant yellow capitals fill the top of the blue cover, over a pink panel with a short line about the range, a round portrait in a yellow hat and a tilted NEW sticker. A three-word slogan and an issue number finish it like a poster on a wall.

Bold Catalog — Size / Spec Guide page

A color index instead of a size chart

The spec page lists each color with the number of styles, the case size and a starting price, then adds three short notes on mixing, matching and showing color. Stores can plan a color-blocked shelf straight from the table.

Bold Catalog — Featured Product page

A head-to-toe look with numbered pieces

Numbered dots on a portrait in a fuchsia suit link to the blazer, trousers and shirt, each with SKU, trade price and suggested retail price. A line explains that the look sells as a set and restocks as separates.

Bold Catalog — Promo / Sale page

A yellow opening-order page

A giant blue 15 percent fills a yellow page, with the conditions underneath: new accounts only, any mix of categories, orders over $1,000 and a spring deadline. A circular photo keeps it on brand without pulling attention from the number.

Bold Catalog — Cover · poster page

A poster cover with a two-word manifesto

The poster cover splits into four blocks: a two-word headline on yellow, a close-up portrait, a palette of bright eyeshadows and a navy panel that sums up the range. It doubles as a social image or a printed flyer for the issue.

Tips

How to merchandise bold, colorful products for stores

Organize by color as well as category

Bright products sell well in color blocks, where one color runs across fashion, shoes, beauty and objects. An index by color, like the one in the sample, helps a store build that shelf in a single order instead of hunting through every category.

Let stores mix colors within a case

A case of six in one color can be too much for a small shop. Allow mixed colors within a case, at least on reorders, and say so on the product pages. Lower risk per style encourages buyers to try more of your range.

Make the opening order easy

A modest opening minimum, such as $400, plus a one-time discount above a higher threshold gets new accounts started without overcommitting. State that the offer is for new accounts only and give a clear end date, so it never turns into your standard price.

Shoot every product on strong color

Neutral backdrops make bright products look smaller. Shoot on solid color paper that contrasts with the product, crop tightly and repeat a few backdrop colors throughout the catalog. The pages then feel like one collection even when the items come from many makers.

Keep body text plain and legible

Heavy display type is for headlines only. Set body text in a clean sans serif at a comfortable size, with strong contrast against the background, so prices and terms stay readable in print and on a phone screen.

FAQ

Questions about this template

Can I change the electric blue to my own brand color?

Yes. Colors are fully editable across the template, so you can swap the blue and yellow for your own palette and keep the bold layout. Fonts change too, with 112 Google Fonts and 7 system fonts available, and every photo can be replaced with your own pictures or free stock photos.

Which pages are in the Bold Catalog template?

Fifteen, published as issue #03, The Loud Issue. Color does the organizing: a color index takes the place of a size chart, a head-to-toe fuchsia look breaks into three pieces, and a yellow opening-order page shouts 15 percent. Three covers, BOLD, Turn it up and No Beige, lead in, followed by the buyer's letter, contents, a Shoes opener, six loudest sellers, ordering steps, terms, a masthead, a notes page and a #04 teaser. Your range fills blue product pages.

Do bold catalog designs work for wholesale buyers?

They can, as long as the information stays easy to find. Buyers flip through many catalogs each season, and a strong visual identity helps yours be remembered. Keep SKUs, prices, pack sizes and terms in the same place on every page, so the design draws attention while ordering stays simple.

What is color blocking in retail displays?

Color blocking groups products of the same or related colors together, so a shelf or window reads as bands of color instead of a jumble. Shoppers spot what they like from across the store, and bright products look intentional. A catalog grouped by color makes these displays easier for stores to plan.
